Secure Shopping
Our store uses the leading Internet security protocol, called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL),
to transmit sensitive data like your address and credit card number.
Some consumers are concerned about the security of personal information, especially card card information,
when making purchases over the Internet.
Believe it or not, the Internet, with SSL security, is really safer for credit card transactions then
normal in-store or over-the-telephone transactions. Every time you give your credit card to an underpaid
gas station attendant, minimum wage store clerk, or even a clerk at a posh hotel, you risk them taking
the slips and selling them to someone who knows how to use other people's credit card information.
When you give your credit card number over the phone to make a catalog purchase how much control do you
have over who has access to your information?
Most of us use credit cards anyway. The reason is that thefts after these kinds of sales happen rarely;
and even when they do, the credit card company cannot hold you responsible for more than $50,
assuming that you report the losses as soon as you find out about them. Having someone do this to you is no fun,
but most of us take that risk everyday.
The good news is that stealing a credit card number is very difficult on the Internet today when a
'secure server' is employed. If you order goods on the Internet from merchants who use secure servers
(like we do), it is much less likely that your credit card number will get misused. Your browser software
and our secure server work together to scramble your credit card information while it goes from your computer
to ours. With this kind of scrambling (called 'encryption'), even if someone saw the message going from you to us,
he or she would have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to figure out your credit card number.
While not impossible, it is difficult for someone even to watch the stream of bits going between our computers.
Even if they do this and do it undetected, then they have to spend a lot of time unscrambling your credit card number.
It's much easier to just go and pay someone who has access to a pile of paper credit card slips
(and they get access to your signature, which they don't get from the Internet).
No system is perfect, but encryption makes secure online shopping much, much safer than most of the ways you use your

Shipping
We can currently ship to U.S. addresses only. Due to extended shipping times and other
restrictions, we can only ship daylilies and peonies to Alaska and Hawaii.
Plants are available during different seasons. You may place an order for any plant at any time,
and we will hold the order for the upcoming season.

Shipping and handling costs are $9.95 plus a per-item price shown above ($29.90 for Alaska and Hawaii).
We ship most items using UPS 2nd Day service, unless UPS Ground is just as fast. Please provide a street
address in the 'Ship To' box on your order form since UPS will not deliver to P.O. boxes.
Many of our different plant categories are shipped by separate suppliers and at different times of the year.
Because of this, if you order from more than one of the groups above, we will add $3.95 for each additional group.
If a plant is in season, it will be shipped about two weeks after we receive your order. Many of our plants
are field grown and require quite a bit of work to get ready for shipping once your order is received.
If you've placed your order before or after planting season for your climate, we will hold the order and ship
it at the ideal planting time for you.
If you have specific shipping requirements or target delivery dates, please let us know using the comment box
in the shopping cart. Although we can't guarantee a specific shipping date, we'll do our best to meet your requests.

Taxes
Sales tax will not be charged on plant items. Tennessee sales tax of 9.25% will apply to non-plant items.

purchase at Paradise Garden. When you order $10 or more from our store, your SeedPoints are automatically used
