"I would like to say how impressed I was with my order. Most of the bulbs/rhizomes were impressively large and you even sent extra plants. The packaging was perfect; no bends or breaks. I planted them at once and they have taken off like gang busters!"

grass PHALARIS a. 'Strawberries and Cream'

Striped white and green leaves with a blush of pink early in the season. Phalaris will thrive under a variety of conditions including average to moist soils and sun or part shade. It will also tolerate periodic flooding. Can be cut back in summer to freshen up foliage and promote a new flush of growth that will be attractive through early winter.

We ship larger plants than most leading mailorder nurseries. Ours are two year old plants in 5 1/4" containers.

I have this grass planted in a raised planter in part to full sun. It requires consistent moisture to look its best, but it will tolerate drought with no problem. I just pull out all the dried, brown stalks and within a week or two new shoots are sprouting. It gets an 8 because it could be very invasive if not controlled. Comes back reliably every year.
