grass FESTUCA g. 'Boulder Blue'
A Paradise Garden Five Star Grass
Small, rounded clumps of soft powdery blue, spiky foliage. Produces abundant wheat-like seed heads in early summer. Perfect for rock gardens, in containers and in mass plantings. Prefers dryer conditions, does best in full sun and well-drained soil. In the warmer regions of the country afternoon shade is recommended. In mild areas it will act evergreen, but in cooler areas it should be trimmed back almost to the base either before winter or in early spring. Slightly shorter, with a tighter habit and more upright flower stalks than F. ‘Elijah Blue'.
This plant is considered deer resistant.

I ordered 4 of these plants last fall. I was so impressed with the color and fullness when I received them that I ordered 4 more. It is now spring (nearly summer) and they have flowered nicely. I get many compliments from my neighbors and passers-by.

Wow! I received my "Boulder Blue" Festuca plants on 6-15-04. They are absolutely stunning! I'm truly impressed with the size of the plants and they arrived as though they had never traveled through any mailing system. To anyone who has doubts about ordering through this website, I'm telling you, you have NOTHING to fear. Most places send you such tiny, sad looking little plants it makes you afraid to try it again. This company definitely sends extremely nice plants...and BIG too. They arrive looking fresh and beautiful! Thanks, Paradise Gardens!! I'll be back soon!

Boulder Blue is definitely bluer than my Elijah Blue festuca. I have both planted in different areas of the garden. The tufts of blue spiky grass are a nice contrast to more common green leaved plants....and the blue stays blue in every season!

I adore blue fescue since it remains interesting in the landscape all year long. This one is just a tad more blue than most varieties.
