I received my order (several varieties of daylilies) in mid-May. Somehow, when unpacking the box, I overlooked Frankly Scarlet who spent the next 4 weeks in the bottom of the shipping box with no light and no water. In disposing of the box I discovered Scarlet...the foliage was pale yellow, the roots were shriveled and dried. I couldn't bear to dispose of Scarlet so I planted her, just to see what would happen. Believe it or not, Scarlet recovered and is growing happily! I'm IMPRESSED!

Frankly Scarlet bloomed the first year it was planted, and rebloomed & rebloomed. It is May and I have already had a dozen blooms. Great color. I love it!

After anxiously awaiting the "scarlet blooms" from this plant during the winter, imagine my surprise whenever they ended up being burgandy....not the brilliant red that I'd thought. As for the plants, they're extremely healthy & huge....if only they were scarlet.
