Clematis 'Ruutel'

Flower Size: 4-6" One of the very best pure red clematis! The dark red color is stunning and complimented by nearly black anthers. A vigorous grower with an exceptionally long bloom time. These star shaped flowers begin putting on a performance in early spring that lasts straight until early fall - non stop! The compact habit also makes this cultivar an excellent choice for patio containers.

This plant is considered deer resistant.

Wow! This is the best red clematis ever! Everyone who sees it wants one. I bought this one in the spring and it is covered with beautifuly intense ruby red flowers already! I usually cut a newly planted clematis back the first year, but the flowers are so prolific and beautiful, I can't bring myself to do it!
Amazingly, the unpruned plant is even thriving in the 90 degree heat we are now having! I highly recommend this one for your garden, its a real winner! Jon in Oregon
