RHS Award of Garden Merit 2002 - If you're looking for something that will knock your socks off, look no further! These fantastic semi-double flowers have 6-8 base petals which are a deep rose pink, tinged with green and a darker bar. Inner petals are lilac with pink bar. As the flower ages the base petals fall away giving a pompom effect. Belongs to pruning group two.
This plant is considered deer resistant.
We ship larger plants than most leading mailorder nurseries. Ours are two year old plants in 5 1/4" containers.

The pictures of this clematis ARE accurate! I often wait on a bloom to make sure it's like the one in the catalog, and I fully expected to be disappointed with this beauty. Unbelievable as it is, I had 15 -20 of these magnificient flowers AT ONCE growing up a tree by my drive! I love to take visitors through the garden and point out my favorites -- but visitors to my garden pointed it out to me! The vines are healthy and carefree. I recommend it without reservation.

This is a fast growing clematis. The blooms are outstanding. This is one of my favorites. I love the double two-tone blooms.

I grow "Josephine" in zone 10. Yes, the flowers will "knock your socks off". This flower changes dramatically over time. It starts out a lilac/pink shade and toward the end, mine are a beautiful pale green.

I saw this clematis for the first time last summer in a friend's garden. Remarkable coloring for those who like to see pink in the garden. A good substantial pom-pon flower shape. And, best of all it has the name 'Josephine'!
