"I would like to say how impressed I was with my order. Most of the bulbs/rhizomes were impressively large and you even sent extra plants. The packaging was perfect; no bends or breaks. I planted them at once and they have taken off like gang busters!"

One of the easiest varieties to grow. It will start blooming lightly in early to mid-summer, but blooms heaviest in late summer and fall. Magenta-red petals with a velvety sheen and golden anthers Belongs to pruning group three (requires hard pruning).

This plant is considered deer resistant.

My first year for this particular clematis but hopefully it will be spectacular in time. Seems to be coming right along, so here's hoping!

I mentioned this clematis with my review of Nelly Moser. I have had the two growing together on a support and they are really beautiful together. although the color is called red, it is a burgundy-red that goes nicely with pinks and peaches.
