We know that few perennials are loved for their foliage quite like hostas. The leaves of hosta plants come in a wide range of colors, shapes, sizes and textures. Easy to grow and shade tolerant, hostas are herbaceous perennials that are native to Japan, Korea, and China. First imported and grown in Europe in the late 1700's, they made their way to the United States and were growing in gardens across the nation by the mid-1800's.
